In Chapter 2 of "The Great Gatsby", Carraway introduces a few new characters and gives more information about existing characters. The new characters introduced in this chapter are the Wilson's, Catherine, and the McKee's. In the beginning of the chapter, Nick doesn't seem interested about the trip with Tom and his mistress. Tom's mistress, Myrtle is seems to brag a lot about her belongings. Showing that she is very self-centered. Tom then gets violent with Myrtle because she talks about Daisy in a poorly manner. I don't understand why, Tom would care as much because he is unhappy with his marriage with Daisy . The affair between the two is open, yet does Daisy know about Tom's affair? Why does Tom bring Nick along to NY to meet his mistress? How does Mr.Wilson not realize his wife is cheating on him?
